It’s a big deal that these tulips bloomed. Planted in my front flower bed for three years, they’ve never produced blooms until this year. Remember my neighbor’s enormous hedge of honeysuckle we hacked down a month ago? It was so tall no morning sun ever reached the tulips. They would sprout leaves, but never bloom. I’m planting more now that they’ve got a fighting chance. People are like tulips sometimes. A little sunshine goes a long way.
