Steve Heartsill does a really interesting art combo of ironwork and ceramics. I met he and wife, Teri, several years ago through Deb Cheanult. He was super personable and friendly and eager to talk about art. My kind of guy. Yesterday at Woodland Art Fair, we were greeted with big hugs and all smiles as we ambled into his tent out of the rain. That’s when I noticed his crow silhouettes for the first time. As you might imagine, this prompted a whole new conversation, and not unsurprisingly, Steve loves crows, too. He totally understood my love of them, and I told him all about Edgar Allen Crow. Then, to my utter delight, he invited me to his studio to help cut out future crow pieces. Inside I was squealing like a little girl and I was pretty close to doing it out loud. I’m going to take him up on his generous offer. Thank you, Deb, for introducing me to some of the best people we share this earth with.
