“Opportunities are like sunrises. If you wait too long, you miss them.” ~ William Arthur Ward

I worked a great deal in the yard today. The winter lasted so long, and frosts came so late, that I didn’t have many blossoms on my apple and peach trees. As the months have marched on, even less fruit survived. But today I found this baby. I guess the squirrels haven’t seen it yet. This will be my first Jonathan Apple from my Grandmother Terry tree. A few more days and I’m going to sink my teeth into its juicy flesh and enjoy every single chew. I will think fondly of my grandmother as I do so, and I will be ever grateful to my co-workers for the gift of this tree in her honor.
