During my Lowell’s Walk, wherein I discovered the female Ginkgos, I also ambled past the London Ferrill Community Garden on 3rd Street with its exquisite grape vines spreading along the fence as natural as air. It’s nestled quietly between the fire station and the Episcopal Cemetery. A space of tranquility for urban dweller and visitor alike. It was as heavy with grapes as the ginkgos with their fruit. One should never assume anything about the inner city, any inner city. There are harvests everywhere.
