january 1, 2013 | the outhouse
[…] New Year’s Day 2012 I posted a photo of my Peace mug from Lance, and a beautiful sketchbook gift from Larry Evans. This morning I noticed something in the mug I don’t think I’d seen before: “[peace] it comes from within“. That’s exactly what 2012 was all about for me. That search doesn’t end with a new calendar year. Quite the contrary. The drawing is, in part, a result of this spiritual creative journey: the rediscovery of an old love, drawing, just as Larry had hoped. It’s included in an altered book exchange started last July by BFF Mindy Cardenas. There are 15 artists participating from around the US and Uruguay. I experimented with collage in the first few books, but, then, I bought a cheap Faber-Castell pen at Kroger. It was a game changer. I’m much more comfortable drawing than collaging anyway.
