There is a time and a place to be happy, and it’s now.” ~ Aine Belton

A couple of years ago I took mom and dad on an adventure for Father’s Day. We had so much fun we decided to do it again. This year, I took them to Breaks (Interstate Park) in Virginia. It’s called the ‘Grand Canyon of The South’ because it’s 1,000 feet deep. They’d never been before, and boy was it a hit. We enjoyed lunch in Pikeville, many scenic overlooks – long hikes weren’t really possible for mom – and gospel music at the park’s amphitheater. The latter was more like bad gospel karaoke, so we didn’t stay long, choosing nature’s beauty instead. It was gorgeous weather and a truly wonderful day.
