Something near my neighbor’s curb caught my eye last night. Not wanting to appear too nosy, long lens in hand, I made my way across the street. It was Saint Francis perched atop their gas meter lid. I’ve lived beside them for eleven years and never once seen a statue of anything in their yard. Certainly not St. Francis or I would have remembered because, you know, St. Francis is the über-cool patron saint of animals. Alas, that was last night, and this morning, St. Francis was gone. I’m hoping he shows up for a return engagement. Or shows up in my yard! The squirrels could use some prayers, and it would give Wally something new to bark at.

Lol…you do have a way with words. Send the squirrels up here, dad has plenty of walnuts for them. Saw one the other morning running across the back yard with walnuts in each little cheek, scampered back up the tree and into his house of storage. So cute..!
