“Back in the day? Scully, back in the day is now.” ~ Fox Mulder
Last Friday I had the occasion to go home to West Liberty. The folks and I were about town when we stopped in at dad’s former employer, Bank of the Mountains. Donna, whom you met back in December, was there to greet us. It should be obvious from the top photo how much dad and Donna care for one another. Even before Donna lost her dad many years ago there was a bond between them. They are like-minded people, and I felt good about his working so far into his seventies because I knew Donna and Jodi Stacy were looking after him. I love that Donna loves him, that so very many people in Morgan County love him. It gives me great comfort knowing there is someone like Donna who can stand in my place in the little, yet important, ways when I’m absent, someone who genuinely cares for dad, and for mom, too. Donna was a blessing growing up, and she continues to be a blessing as we age. How do you ever repay that kind of love?
