“A disco ball is hundreds of pieces of broken glass put together to make a magical ball of light. You aren’t broken. You are a disco ball.” ~ Unknown

surprise

It was a gorgeous day in Kentucky. Nine years ago today West Liberty was destroyed by a tornado. Today, they, like so many others in Eastern Kentucky, are just waiting for the record floods to disappear, their lives dry out so they can start over yet again. Mom and dad’s old house is cut off because of the water. I continue to be thankful that I got them down here when I did. So many things have happened in the not-yet-two-years they’ve been here. Not even two years and we’ve seen a pandemic, four life-threatening hospitalizations, a massive ice storm, and now a flood. I never take my blessings for granted, and I will always love the home of my soul and want the best for her and all who love her.
