“Do everything with a good heart and pure intentions, with no exceptions, and you will never be disappointed.” ~ Unknown
There are many reasons worktime lunch with the lunch ladies is important, but perhaps the most critical reason is that it’s a bit like therapy with food. Today’s session was just Crystal and me. We were talking about some of the terrible things people we know have gone through lately. Eventually, we landed on all the people I know who have died recently and the people I know who have died way too young. I say something to the effect of, “I don’t know if it’s my age or what but feel like everybody around me is dropping like flies,” to which, without so much as a blink, Crystal replies, “I know. I’m taking my life in my hands just having lunch with you.” This, my friends, is why Crystal and I have been friends for 30 years and we will be friends until we… wait for it… die. Also, I don’t know anyone else who can make chicken noodle soup you can stand a spoon in. Crystal: Just what the doctor ordered – gallows humour and solid soup.

Oh my goodness – only Crystals chicken noodle soup. I can remember when she brought some here for our home warming gift. First time I’d ever had homemade chicken noodle soup from anyone. Crystal is a “crystal-of-a gal”!!!! 💕
