“Instead of asking yourself, ‘what do I want to do with my life?’ Ask yourself, ‘what do I want to do within my life?’ …When you ask yourself this question, you create room to roam, explore, and grow. It takes the pressure off. You create room to breathe.” ~ Morgan Harper Nichols

My Lily cat, my Boo Boo Kitty (see: Laverne and Shirley), is incredibly smart if I haven’t mentioned that. She comes when I call her. She comes inside when I ask. She plays fetch like a dog. She loves a good game of string. She understands a lot of what I say, though her lack of English and my lack of Meow prevents extended verbal communication. And over the last few years, she has constantly taken to laying on my lap. She’s always been a bit stand-off-ish, even with me, but she has thrown caution to the wind and embraced human contact. Lily is 15 years old now. Little white hairs are beginning to show around her solid black body. She’s as spunky as ever, but the grey reminds me that we’re growing old together.
