“when the world
goes mad
become wildly kind
to everyone
everyone
everyone
everyone
my love,
~ you can’t control
much
but you control how
you treat others
in these breaking news
heartbreaking times
when nothing feels
certain
let your raw kindness
be a certainty
allow your compassion
to become a North Star
stamped up in
the sky for
others to follow
back home”

Boo

Shero and I went for our weekly Cracker Barrel breakfast, and lo, Halloween decorations had already appeared. They were already out last weekend. I just didn’t snap a pic because I was met at the door by a self-propelled talking witch’s broom and was so surprised that I didn’t stick around to pull out my phone. I love Halloween, don’t get me wrong, but enough with the overly Capitalistic sales force. Find other ways to channel the sales creativity. Like maybe turn Cracker Barrel into a spookhouse the week before the holiday, when all the waiters and waitresses dress as Frankenstein and his bride, Igor and Frau Blücher, Bela Legosi, Lon Chaney, Vincent Price, or Janet Lee from Psycho, although serving food while naked could have its detractors. Then again, nobody asked me, so I’ll just eat my eggs and head out the door into the Kentucky rotisserie that is July. Maybe I’ll appreciate it more in another three and half months when it’s actually Halloween.
