I find trees along the creek/river banks inspiring because they’re so tenacious. The strength it takes to withstand rushing waters time after time is admirable. This stand of trees seems especially grand as river birch rises from between sycamores. No hate among these trees. The tangle of roots ensures, at least for a while longer, the water will not eat away the soil while providing a safe harbour for god knows what… snapping turtles, water snakes, that is if they can survive the toxins in the water. Even the trees can’t protect them from that.
