Today was an extra special day, indeed. In my continuing efforts to gather oral histories for my thesis, I talked with one of Shero’s oldest and dearest friends, Jimmy Adkins, and his utterly perfect wife, Bina Sue, and their oldest daughter, Patsy Hensley who looks exactly like she did in High School. These old friends reminisced about how wonderful West Liberty used to be when they were teens in the 1950s and when Patsy and I were teens in the 1970s and 80s. It was one of the most important interviews I’ve had yet, and their hospitality was more than I deserved. It made me so happy to see Shero and Jimmy reunited. She was tickled to death to spend time with him, and I enjoyed listening to everyone’s stories. What a perfect day with deeply beloved people and valued friends.
