I love classes offered by artists. Tonight’s Affrilachian Lit class met at the Gateway Regional Arts Center in Mt. Sterling to hear singer/songwriter Martha Redbone. We were late thanks to rush hour traffic and construction, but we got there just in time for the show. She did not disappoint. Her stripped-down musical compositions infused with blues, jazz, and gospel were my kind of infusion and just what the doctor ordered. I could get used to this kind of class. I think my buddy Jacob Johnson (above) could, too.
