ceramic tile entrance
This is the entrance to the McAdams and Morford building. Today, it’s Harvey’s Bar in downtown Lexington. Built in 1849, the three-story commercial building housed the McAdams and Morford drug store from 1898 through 1994. It only occupied the corner. The rest of the building was known as Melodeon Hall, which seated 300 for theater events and meetings. I’m a big fan of the ceramic tile entrance. We used to have a lot more of them, but as buildings were torn down and replaced with craptastic concrete walkways, they faded from the landscape. I value those that have managed to survive the marches of time.
