“No need to hurry. No need to sparkle. No need to be anybody but oneself.” ~ Virginia Woolf
For the third year, we middle-aged, over-achieving UK Libraries gals met at Shakertown for our annual Christmas lunch. It was a deliciously dreary, misty, foggy drive across the Kentucky River, and the Shaker fields were filled with sheep getting ready for the coming cold. Inside, where it was warm, we enjoyed food and fellowship and reaffirmed friendships (and started festivus early). These ladies were a much-needed balm, and Shakertown is always cathartic, whether in her company for lunch or overnight. I’m such a lucky girl to be included among so many talented, kind, compassionate human beings.

Lovely photo! Believe it or not, it was actually our 4th luncheon! Long may the tradition continue!
