Cousin Eunice

I was thinking of Eunice just this past weekend. I thought when the weather warmed, I’d gather the aunts and cousins here in Lexington and we’d go see Eunice and Johnny up in Hardburley, maybe stop by KFC in Hazard, and take in a load of fried chicken. Well, Eunice couldn’t wait for the weather to warm and had to go over to the other side of the veil this afternoon. These photos are from the 2015 Terry Reunion, where we had a blast catching up (picture below with our other cousin, Drucilla, who passed on a few years ago). Eunice and me shared letters for several years until her heart started giving her trouble, and I got way too busy. I will cherish those letters, and I will always be grateful that we got to know one another. What a lucky, lucky girl I’ve been.

  1. Hi my name is Alana, I am engaged to Anthony Stout, Midge’s youngest boy. I had stumbled across some of your work last year and just saw your post. Not sure if I got to meet you the weekend before last or not. I just wanted to reach out because I did not know Eunice long but consider myself absolutely blessed to have met her and talked with her for the short time we did. She definitely shined with light and love and talking with her about family history and hearing stories she was reminiscing was amazing. I just wanted to reach out and send my deepest sympathy. I know she is at peace but she will be greatly missed. I would like to keep in touch if possible because I feel family is so very important and everyone get so separated with the fast pace of the world. For the Stout part of the Arnett/Terry side please keep in touch so hopefully it’s not another 11 years before we can all see each other again. ♡
