As sad as Friday was in saying goodbye to Tucker, it was bookended by two fabulous gatherings. Earlier in the morning, I stopped by the Appalachian Center and got to hang with my BFF, Dr. Kathryn Engle, for a minute. We have vowed to take another adventure this summer that doesn’t involve a disaster (no more EKY floods, please). Just a good ‘ol Eastern Kentucky hang day. Maybe I’ll finally get to see the Lend-A-Hand Center she’s involved with on Stinking Creek in Knox County. I’ve heard so much about it that I think it is high time I see it in person. The last fabulous gathering, dinner with Carla and Jen, included finally meeting Carla’s sister. We’ve heard about her sister for years, all good, so it was a joy to meet her at last. She did not disappoint with her wit and charm. Here’s to good friends who keep us buoyed on life’s hard days.
