Our colleague, Dr. Vanessa Holden, whom you met in early 2023, is on the Lexington Freedom Train committee that brought last week’s Hayden statue to fruition. It is only the first of three phases planned for this area. Vanessa is a real go-getter, positive, inquisitive, curious, and has a wicked sense of humor. That has been a rare experience for me with someone as bright as Vanessa. She manages many essential things at UK and they’re lucky to have her. Luckier still are I, Jen, and Reinette, who get to work closely with her. We four met this morning, and it reminded me of how lucky we are to have her in our lives and in Kentucky. Thursday was just one of her many successes.
