This once historic city block of houses across from the Gaines Center for the Humanities was recently razed. The orange barricade now makes way for an eight-story student housing complex. I have delivered more pizzas to those historic houses on Maxwell and Hagerman Court than I can count. I’m grateful for those experiences in the place that existed before this blight befell Lexington.
