“In life, all good things come hard, but wisdom is the hardest to come by.” ~ Lucille Ball

Roxanne

Somebody explain to me today’s meaning of red porch lights? They are not on every night. No people are coming and going (literally or figuratively), so unless this is some internet sex signal, like a bat signal, it’s not a calling card for potential pleasure customers. Their luminance does not coincide with a holiday or, as someone once suggested, in support of first responders and/or firefighters whose support month is February. The red lights are on throughout the year, on different nights of any given week, but not every night. In fact, they’re sometimes off for weeks at a time. What’s going on? This is not a trick question.
