“This is the solstice, the still point of the sun, its cusp and midnight, the year’s threshold and unlocking, where the past let’s go and becomes the future’ the place of caught breath, the door of a vanished house left ajar.” ~ Margaret Atwood

All it took was for Ken to come fix my dryer yesterday, and then suddenly, I awoke with energy (maybe because I slept a solid 10-12 hours – I might have been tired). I sprang from the bed this morning and basically cleaned and worked and decorated all day – from rearranging the utility room, to laundering everything that wasn’t tied down, including the kitchen rugs, to mopping the floor and putting up the Christmas tree – it all got done and then some. I even had the energy to go to lunch with Stacy and watch our favorite holiday classic, White Christmas, before coming home and continuing to task all over the house. The dogs have been a little freaked out by it, frankly. They’re not used to me being up on my feet all day. My feet aren’t used to me being up on them either, but hey, when the energy and motivation hit, you’ve got to strike. And just like that, I’m ready for Christmas!
