“There’s no right time in life, there’s only time, and you get to choose what to do with it.” ~ Unknown
At Shero’s service, we opened the floor to those wishing to share stories about her. My Uncle Danny closed the session by telling how he was often mistaken as Hero and Shero’s son rather than Hero’s younger brother. He was only 9 or 10 when I was born, and he favors Hero, so it’s not a crazy thing for people to think. He stayed with us a lot in West Liberty and moved to Tucson with us for a while. I’ve got a great photo of little me sitting between Danny and Uncle James, the youngest of Hero’s siblings. It belongs on my wall. As for Uncle Danny, he grew up real good, retired as a 911 dispatcher in Morgan County, and now he raises chickens and enjoys time with his grandson, Gunnar. He’s a good egg, and I have always loved him. I always will.
