I gotta say that this was a pretty fantastic day. BFF Carla needed headshots and asked if I’d do them. It’s not generally in my bailiwick; it’s much more up Crystal’s alley, but since I hadn’t done headshots in a while, it’s always good to flex a muscle from time to time. I took my camera to work this morning, and just as we stepped out to do the photos, BFF Carol Street came along (below). Perfect timing because Carol thoroughly enjoys posing people and knows just what to say (much like Crystal). The three of us had a blast sharing the President’s garden with other photographers, inundated with graduation photos. For two days, I’ve seen the same photographer when I walk into the office and when I leave. She’s got to be exhausted by now. Anyway, the azaleas are stunning and made a lovely background, but the photo of Carla I like best (above) is not one she’d necessarily use. Still, it is completely her: laughing, self-assured, and happy. Isn’t that the way you love seeing all your friends? It warmed my heart to see Carla, and tickled me pink to have Carol join us. I mean, look at the photo of the two of them: is that not happiness on a spring morning personified? I have some great friends and coworkers, and I know it. I hope I never take them for granted.
