“Anchor yourself so deeply in love that no microphone, platform, or pulpit can teach you to despise your neighbor.” ~ Unknown

the enemy of my enemy is my friend

What could possibly make these two cuddle? They don’t even do it during thunderstorms, but let the roofers show up at 6:45 am -without warning, I might add- start banging around like it’s the end of the world, and suddenly they are best buddies. I really didn’t know they were coming today, and fortunately, I was able to stay home to comfort the dogs and give the roofers access to indoor electricity. They worked hard to beat the afternoon rain, and they succeeded. Those poor things were on the roof promptly at 7 am, and they didn’t stop for lunch until almost 2 pm. They had to be starving. They had a cool little device they ran through the yard and driveway to scan, find, and pick up roofing nails when they had finished. This was a very useful tool in my opinion, especially since they had to replace the decking along the front half of the roof. That was an unfortunate added expense, for which I will be giving plasma for the next decade to pay. But you know what? I have a new roof, it looks great, it was a good price, and the dogs survived. That’s a pretty good day, I’d say.
