I’ve had dogs that loved me fiercely, none more than my Sadie, but I’ve never had a dog more protective of me than Lord Basil. He nips at everybody that comes near me or into his space, which includes Hero and Shero’s house. He will even bite the feet or ankles of people he has met numerous times and ultimately liked. He bit poor Adam through his shoe last week, and he loves Adam! He doesn’t love the weed eater, and he’ll go after that like a dog on fire. His little mouth can’t do much damage to man or machine, but just the act of lunging and barking is enough to warn off most. But once he settles down and he likes you? He’s a lap dog if ever there was one. He’s been so good for me.
