best friends
My friend, Gordon Hogg, is a drummer in the William Sutherland Reid Pip and Drum Band. Tonight, they celebrated Robert Burns’ birthday, and along side him played drummer Andy Werthmann. Gordon and Andy have been best friends since they were eight years old. They last performed in concert together in 1972. Andy flew from his home in Fairfax, VA just to play the Burns’ night gig. He is one of the nicest people I’ve ever met. His playing was spectacular, and our conversations equally so. The love and pride of friendship was palpable. Thanks, Gordon and Andy, for such a wonderful evening.
