I’ve known Mike Griffitts for as long as I can remember. He has always been soft spoken, kind, and very, very smart. He’s the director of the Morgan County Public Library. Many of us from West Liberty are diverse doers; partly out of necessity, partly out of boredom. You see, Mike is also a tow truck driver. When my folks’ truck broke down in Lexington, it was Mike they called to haul it home. I’ve learned over the years that being nimble with professions like this is actually a skill; an ability not everyone possesses, which makes Mike all the more unique. This August, after 38 years, he’ll retire from library service to become solely a tow truck driver (at least for a while). You go, Mike! You’ll always be the coolest tow truck driving librarian I know.
