Crystal was teaching conservator, Kazuko Hioki, how to use her new camera. Crystal’s a fantastic teacher. I, on the other hand, am not. For years people tried to get me to teach drumming, but I just couldn’t bring myself to do it. It seemed a rip-off to try to teach someone something that I just do. My brain is weird. I take in information in the usual ways, but then it’s like the info assimilates itself into my overall system, and I can’t recall it the same way it went in. That’s why I could never teach. Sometimes I don’t know how I know what I know, or I can’t explain it so that someone else will know what I know. See, I can’t even explain this. Here’s a picture of my Columbine. They’re native to Kentucky.
