We choose our joys and sorrows long before we experience them.” ~ Kahlil Gibran

In the basement of King Library is the coolest thing on campus: King Library Press. They hand make books and broadsides of a quality that’s virtually unmatched save for a few small presses around the world. I walk into the place and immediately all my worries disappear. The smell of ink and paper seep into my head like a tonic. Drawers upon drawers of type line the walls, making the room old world warm. Put it all together, the craftsmanship in each letter pressed, each page sewn, it’s nothing short of exquisite. I’m so genuinely proud to work near King Press, and how darn lucky am I that I have to go through it to get to some of our collections? It’s true love.
