Because yesterday’s drive through the Virginia mountains was so beautiful, I thought I’d have another look from Benge’s Gap into Powell Valley. This place must be stunning in the fall. So much beauty.

wonderful poetry–sheer genius
you don’t mention morris’s butt in the background, or cracker’s neck or maple’s gap or huff rock all in the picture. grew up here and it was/is a boy’s paradise. rocky hollow civil war salt peter cave also in view as well as a half a dozen other caves along the face of the mountain.
I didn’t know about them until now! Send a map so I can find these curious places.
