“Normality is a paved road: It’s comfortable to walk, but no flowers grow on it.” ~ Vincent van Gogh

cold day, wet road

This is a photo from January of Short Street near Upper. It was a beautiful morning despite the frigid temps. Today was not like this at all. It poured a cold rain most of the day. That gave me plenty of time to read and relax. Last week was one of the most technologically frustrating and taxing weeks of my career. I needed today to be rainy and gloomy and slow. I needed today to be analogue. I love our technological advances, but not as much as I love the old ways of being. I want to read a book made of paper and play a drum that makes a lot of noise. And if I had space for a darkroom, I’d be shooting film, too. Well, two out of three will have to do, I suppose. I’m good with that.
