I had lunch with my old friend David Thompson today. We’ve tried to make a lunch date for years, and it finally happened. Of course, the one day I leave campus, it rains. But, hey, we needed it badly, so I’m grateful. David and I had a fabulous lunch at UK’s Spindletop Hall (it was too wet and busy to get any good photos), and we had an even better conversation. We have worked together for many, many years to highlight and preserve Kentucky newspapers, and he shares my love for their unique historic value. I hope it doesn’t take us too many more years to have lunch again. A girl can’t have too many like-minded friends.
