“The nail in my wall would no longer support the weight of the rejection slips impaled upon it. I replaced the nail with a spike and kept on writing.” ~ Stephen King

sunday snow showers

We had another day of snow on Sunday, and that afternoon, we had a lovely burst of the white stuff. I grabbed the camera and shot through the back door, capturing my crow window sticker Angie gave me last summer. She gave me enough stickers to plaster nearly all the kitchen windows with the joyous corvid. So, I did. It took a while for the dogs to adjust because, from a distance, they looked real. I faintly remember photographing a snowstorm in the early 1980s, and this photo is reminiscent of that storm and that photograph (long since missing). For as cold as snow is – and it is brutally cold right now – there is something really comforting about this photo for me because of that memory. It was a time of discovery when my brain was still spongy and soaking up everything. Good times, indeed.
