Being MLK Day, it was a day off for UK employees, but it was anything but a day off for me and Shero. With another few inches of snow yesterday and temps dipping to 1 degree overnight, it was a challenge to get out of the house to her doctor’s appointment this morning, but we made the most of it, as we often do, and neither of us fell. Bonus! Amongst the things we got done today, we made up for my missed birthday dinner with a shared birthday lunch at our favorite Longhorn Steakhouse. (Shero’s birthday is this Friday). As luck would have it, we got an incredibly handsome, sweet-as-could-be waiter who was so taken with Shero he brought us each birthday dessert. I don’t know how much better that lunch could have gone. In fact, the whole day was pretty darn great, all things considered. I rather enjoy taking a whole month to enjoy one’s birthday. I highly recommend it.
