Jetson’s
Stacy and I walked to Winchell’s for breakfast yesterday morning after we dropped the cars at GorrilaShine. We came upon this interesting plant beside the railroad overpass on Southland. I had not seen one before, but it looked like something from The Jetsons. It was packed with pollinators. After a little sleuthing, I discovered this to be a Buttonbush, native to North Carolina, and highly attractive to pollinators. You can learn more about it here. Even though it’s not native to Kentucky, at least it’s native to this continent, which is better than many of the species I see around the hood (I’m looking at you, woody honeysuckle).
