In July, um tomorrow, my Scion tc, Bella, turns 21. That’s right, she’ll be legal. She’s a 2005 model (the first year they made the tc), but I bought her in May 2004. I had to wait two months for her to be built and shipped from Japan, and delivered to Lexington. Little-known fact: She was the first Scion tc sold in Lexington. For this special birthday, she got the Big Banana at GorillaShine, plus a big ceramic waxing, and dull headlights brightened. Ever wondered how well GorillaShine does? The photo below is my reflection in her refreshed paint job in a dark garage. Did I mention she’s 21 years old? She’ll qualify for an antique vehicle license in four years, and you can bet she’ll get it and wear it proudly. Chris at GorillaShine gave me a high-five when he realized she’s a manual transmission. There are a few reasons why I haven’t bought another car. First, they cost too much. Second, there’s absolutely nothing wrong with Bella. She runs as good as the day I bought her. And third, it’s nearly impossible to buy a new manual transmission car or truck these days. Nope. Me and Bella are just fine the way we are. Happy birthday, beautious Bella. You’re the best.
