“What doesn’t kill you gives you a lot of unhealthy coping mechanisms and a really dark sense of humor.” ~ Unknown

I’ve not had the weekend I expected. Yesterday, I had wonderful plans for an exhibit with BFF Deb Chenault in celebration of her birthday (she says she’s 83, but we all know better), and brunch with BFF Terry Keys today, but, no, to both. Instead, I’ve spent the weekend in bed or under a blanket with what must be a stomach bug. I didn’t eat at all yesterday, but I did finally manage to make it downstairs this morning. In doing that, I began writing the many thank-you cards I owe to the wonderful people who have either helped me get through the last month or sent flowers or food on Shero’s behalf, like these gorgeous tulips from Leshia and Scott Collins that bloomed a couple of days ago. They’re just gorgeous. With every word I write, I feel blessed. I’ll be sad later. Right now, I still feel so incredibly blessed and grateful beyond measure… except for this stomach virus. I could have done without that part.
