“It’s okay to live in a simple home, wear simple clothes, and own simple things. Simplicity os the path to freedom.” ~ Unknown

My turn at probate court this morning was interesting. Everybody had a lawyer except me. My very kind attorney thought I was together enough to do it myself, gave me the appropriate forms, and sent me on my way. He turned out to be right. The judge was very kind, telling each of us he was sorry for our loss. The woman ahead of me saved the judge’s life, but not today, though it was starting to sound that way before he told the whole story. The judge announced to the courtroom that she had been his nurse when he suffered a heart attack seven years ago. Apparently, she had been his father’s nurse when he had his heart attack, too. It was nice to see a hint of humanity in the courtroom. Honestly, everybody at the courthouse was super nice. Like the judge said today, Lexington is still a small town when you’ve been here long enough. He’s not wrong. It is a big small town. This is my second time living in Lexington, and this time I’ve been here for 33 years. I reckon I like it.
