“Nothing has ever been said about God that hasn’t already been better said by the wind in the pine trees.” ~ Thomas Merton
Aunt Lois turned 81 years old today. She looks incredible for her age, and she sure doesn’t act her age. She’s still young at heart, and you can see it all over her face. My grandparents had so many kids that the older kids were assigned a younger sibling. Lois was assigned to Hero, so I’m not at all surprised that she’s as spunky as she is. Even in his demented state, Hero was spunky, and his influence on her has been clear to me for decades. I know her influence on her great-grandson, Kam, will help him in years to come. Lois has been a good influence on the family and her many friends. Never underestimate the influence on young people, whether it’s a near-four-year-old great-grandson or a 61-year-old niece. I’m so grateful to celebrate another birthday with her.
