I must be living right because this week I got to have dinner with both my blood and chosen families. Tonight, Crystal and I had dinner with her mom, Mama Heis. Until Winchell’s turned up the football game to 11, we had a wonderful chance to catch up over a delicious meal. I’m looking forward to our second viewing of White Christmas at the Opera House. Elaine said it won’t be the same without Shero, and she’s right; it won’t be nearly as spunky and spontaneous, but I’m confident Shero will be there in some way. I’m so grateful Elaine got to know her a little before she left. It adds another valuable layer to our friendship that I will always cherish.
