Today, I had the rare opportunity to help HRB and Ken, instead of them helping me. I watered their garden. As I did, I saw a single bee dining on the sweet nectar of the zinnia. You see, HRB’s garden is a mix of vegetables and flowers, all of which, except for the zucchini, are doing surprisingly well despite the lack of water we’ve had of late. I found the small zinnias especially colorful, and then, of course, the bee was the icing on the floral cake. I very much enjoy helping others, and I look forward to doing more when full retirement kicks in, if not before. That’s what friends are for.
