I don’t know what I’d do without cousin friend Stanya Franklin Terrell. She worked her butt off helping mom and Aunt Janet. We had to sort through the stuff we took out of Janet’s destroyed house so we can put some of it back in the new house next weekend. There was an incredible amount of cookware Mamaw had amassed over 70 years. What is this antique device Stanya’s holding? Stanya knew. I did not, even though I’d watched Mamaw use it countless times. Mamaw also served iced tea to guests with the special glass set below. We will enjoy a fresh glass of iced tea in the new house very soon.

I did not mind helping at all. We had a lot of fun. Hopefullly, next weekend will be good moving weather.

It’s a food mill. I used to use it all the time when I canned applesauce. Cook the apples in the crockpot with their skins on. Jonathon apples were the best. Made pink applesauce. Then let the apples cool down, and mill them through the food mill. Yummy. Easy. Way easier than peeling gallons of apples. Plus the skin imparts flavor and color.
It’s great that Aunt Janet is moving into her new/old house.

YES! Becky FTW!!! I’ve heard people call it different things, like food sieve, and colander. Still everyone knows what it does regardless of what they call it. This one still works, but you can see that it hasn’t been used in a good 20 years.
