Finally I can see the sunrise ushering in the first day of spring. My living room was awash in golden light. Even the cats seemed to glow. It’s an ordinary scene but extraordinary in so many ways, not the least of which that I was alive to see and appreciate its ordinariness. That alone is worth giving thanks.
