Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours.” ~ Mark 11:24

Calamity Jane strikes again!

I don’t know if I can bear to tell the whole tale of little Calamity Jane and her sister, Annie Oakley. They came to be known as The Cowgirls. It’s a long, sorted tale that started in Oklahoma and ends in Kentucky. They left a trail of bruised and bloodied cats, flat tires, shredded fridge magnets, and more caked-in-the-hair mud than you can shake a stick at. Even a 400 acre farm up a lonesome holler was no match for the dynamic duo.

Last week their mini aussie/border collie lives changed again, but hopefully for the last time. After weeks of prayers (and tears – theirs and mine), Annie now has three young children to run her ragged. Meanwhile, Janey has become a permanent member of my parent’s home. Dad is completely smitten. He is a man who is not smitten with anything. There’s something about this sweet little dog that stole his heart the second he laid eyes on her. I get weekend visits. And that’s just perfect by me. I wouldn’t trade the love in my dad’s eyes for nothing.

  1. It is wonderful hearing about the happily-ever-afters for these beautiful, brown-eyed girls. Great images! WOOF! (And, I look forward to seeing more stunning photos of them in a future follow-up post!)
