“I believe much trouble would be saved if we opened our hearts more.”
~ Chief Dan George
The trail to the office is elevated from the parking structure. It crosses four lanes of Limestone before descending at low grade to the ground. Along the way it winds through tall oaks, presenting a view of the trees only birds and squirrels usually see. These baby oak leaves look so different up close than they do from the ground. They won’t stay like this for long, and I’m not entirely sure why I hadn’t noticed them before this spring. They look like velvety eucalyptus. I want to touch them, but they seem delicate, as if they would turn to ash and disintegrate into the breeze. Spring is such a time of renewal. I always enjoy it, and I always discover something new.
