“Good humor is a tonic for mind and body. It is the best antidote for anxiety and depression. It is a business asset. It attracts and keeps friends. It lightens human burdens. It is the direct route to serenity and contentment.” ~ Grenville Kleiser

I might as well confess. I’ve been looking to buy a zoom lens for Jerry 6D for some time, a Canon 70-200mm to be precise. Unfortunately, new it runs about $2500. That’s way out of my range. BFF Crystal Heis has been keeping an eye out through her many contacts, while I’ve been trolling the Canon refurbs, hoping to find something affordable. Still, with home improvements needed and a fence for Wally, I just couldn’t justify even a cheap knockoff. On Monday Crystal had found a used Canon 70-200mm at Midwest Camera Exchange for dirt cheap. On Wednesday I was honored with the Dean’s Award. It comes with a monetary gift. I pulled the trigger, and Thursday afternoon, the lens arrived on my doorstep. I also got my yearly credit from the gas company. So, at the end of it all, I got a $2500 lens for less than $400. Today, Crystal and I brought out our matching 70-200mm lenses and played shooting at twenty paces during lunch. My life would be so less awesome without her. And this is just one of the great things that happened today. There was a LOT of awesome. I win this week!
