“You can’t see your reflection in boiling water. Similarly, you can’t see the truths of your life in a state of anger.” ~ Unknown

summer is on the way

Monday, I was walking with my friend Carla Cantagallo back to the office from a faculty meeting when suddenly, she gasped, staring at a large tree in the President’s yard. I’ve seen hawks come and go in these trees, but not this time. It was a pair of turkey vultures (buzzards) with another pair circling. Careful not to stand beneath them, as they have a bad habit of regurgitating their food, we watched one pair glide on an updraft as the other pair hopped between branches. These birds are huge, ugly, and I could be p[perfectly content watching them for a few hours on a spring afternoon.
