The very last thing that was done in the remodel was the removal of the nasty carpet on the steps (despite my appeal for it to be done during the first phase). After all this time and money I had high hopes they’d look as pristine as the rest of the hardwood floors in the house. That hope was squashed flat when instead years of neglect were revealed. Anybody got a hand sander I can borrow?
